SOMERS - Jessica was the victim of a motor vehicle accident. A young life taken far too soon. She was a senior at Prairie Valley High School and was active in cheerleading, drill team, golf, competition cheerleading, and was chosen for the Iowa Cheer Honor Squad and was recently selected for the Iowa Shrine Bowl. She was also an active member of the Webster County Wheelers. Jessica was employed at the Villa Care Center, Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge, and was working for Dollars for Scholars at the Gowrie Day Care Center. She was presently obtaining her CNA certificate and after graduation was to attend Iowa Central Community College Nursing Program.
Survivors include her parents Kam and Vicki (Chase George) Schmehr of Somers; brother Jacob Schmehr of Somers; maternal grandparents Dave and Linda George of Callender and Rick and Tammie Chase of Duncombe; paternal grandparents Jim and Pat Granahan of Callender; great-grandmother Leola Riley of Montezuma; and grandma Aggie Jones; aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gary L. Schmehr, great-grandparents, Otis and Fern Faith, Lowell Chase, Lloyd and Dorothy Long, Laurence and Mae Schmehr, and Dennis and Lucile Granahan.
