SOMERS - Jay I. Moeller 54, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Ft. Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Somers United Methodist Church in Somers, with Pastor Crystal Oberheu officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Township Cemetery, near Rinard. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City.
Jay is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughter JoAnna Moeller of Somers; grandsons, Tyler and Justin Moeller; his parents, Marion and Doris Moeller of Somers; sisters, Patricia Wyatt of Dexter, and Pauline (David) Wienhold of Manson; and brother Roy Moeller of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Melvin and RuthTreptow; and brother-in-law Lynn Wyatt.
Jay Iven Moeller was born Sept. 5, 1956 at Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Cedar Valley High School, with the Class of 1974. Jay attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville. Following his education he moved back home to help his father in the dairy and farming operations. On April 28, 1979 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Kay Treptow at the Methodist Church in Pierson. The couple made their home on a Moeller family farm near Somers. Jay enjoyed motorcycles, and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Somers United Methodist Church.
