Marjorie M. Vote

Marjorie Vote, 64, Somers, died May 29, 1996, at her home. 

Services were held June 1 at the United Methodist Church, Somers, with Rev. David L. Kruse officiating. Music was provided by Donna Brand, organist, and Doris Moeller, vocalist. Honorary casket bearers were Eric Lomicka, Shaun Vote, Kevin Vote and Tracy Vote. Casket bearers were Bryan Lomicka, Jeremy Vote, Brett Vote, Jason Vote, Todd Vote and Chandra Rossow. Burial was in Cedar Cemetery, Rinard. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, was in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie Mae Vote, daughter of William Allen and Beatrice (Pierce) Burnett, was born September 9, 1931, south of Somers, Iowa. Marjorie Allen graduated from Gowrie High School. She was united in marriage with John Vote on July 16, 1950, in Somers. She worked as a cook in the Barnum and Cedar Valley School Districts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Somers and the United Methodist Women.

Preceding her in death were her mother, father, step-father, granddaughter, Christina Vote, and one brother. Survivors include her husband, John, Somers; daughter, Patricia Lomicka, and her husband, John, Callender; daughter, Marilyn Vote, Somers; son, Paul, and his wife Peg, Somers; son, Gerald, and his wife Marla, Renwick; son, Terry, Somers; daughter, Sherry and her husband, Kevin, Somers; sixteen grandchildren, Chandra, Bryan, Eric, Shaun, Tracy, Brett, Jason, Kevin, Lindsey, Jeremy, Todd, Allen, Joseph, Andrew, Alyssa, and Tanner; two sisters, Betty Webster, Roelyn, and Beryl Light, Glidden; one brother, Leslie Allen, Fort Dodge; other relatives and friends.
