LAKE CITY - Richard Crabtree, 72, died Sunday June 28, 2009 at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City. A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with family present one hour prior to the service.
Dick is survived by his wife, Sherry of Lake City; daughters, Kim (Frank) Prusick of Dexter and Sharon (Denny) Miller of Lake City; grandchildren, Keali (Tony) Holt, Robyn (Dan) Swanson and Lucas Winter; and great-grandchildren, Lexi, Tori, Dakota and Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Dick was born March 23, 1937 to parents Richard and Adelyn (Parker) Crabtree. He served 8 years in the Iowa National Guard. On November 23, 1956, Dick was married to Sherry Gentry at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He worked as a barber, a milk man for Lytton Dairy, a custodian for the Lake City School system, an electrician for Denman Morton, and he worked in maintenance at Stewart Memorial Hospital and WalMart before retiring in 2002.
