Somers – Doris M. Moeller 85, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at
Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m.
Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Somers United Methodist Church in Somers,
with Rev. Dave Kruse officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Township
Cemetery near Rinard. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August
5, at the Somers United Methodist Church, Somers. Memorials may be left
to the discretion of the family. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home,
Rockwell City is serving the family.
Doris is survived by her children, Patricia Wyatt of Dexter, Roy
(Robin) Moeller of Greenfield, and Pauline (David) Wienhold of Manson;
daughter-in-law Marilyn Moeller of Somers; 5 grandchildren, Ryan
(Melissa) Wyatt, Jen (David) Corell, Jody (Mike Shiflett) Wienhold,
Chris (Allison) Wienhold, and JoAnna (Tyson) Saxton; 13
great-grandchildren; and sister Carol Wiley of Fort Dodge. She was
preceded in death by her husband Marion; son Jay Moeller; her parents,
Iven and Alice (Allbee) Ross; son-in-law Lynn Wyatt.
Doris Marie Ross Moeller was born August 30, 1932 near Somers,
Iowa. She graduated from Somers Consolidated School with the Class of
1950. On September 3, 1950 she was united in marriage to Marion Moeller
at Somers. The couple farmed and operated a dairy in the Somers area
for most of their lives. Marion passed away in 2017. Doris was an
active member of the Somers United Methodist Church, where she taught
Sunday School for 38 years. She was also a member of the UMW, where she
was District Officer for 9 years.
