Eldred "Sally" McCubbin

May 22, 1926 - June 6, 2018

Twin Lakes – Eldred "Sally" McCubbin 92, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Eufaula Manor in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Cedar Township Cemetery, Rinard, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family.

Sally is survived by her children, Arlys Jean Franken of Eufaula, OK, John (Teresa) McCubbin of Pickrell, NE, Barbara Krepela of Checotah, OK; daughter-in-law Rose McCubbin of Manson; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; siblings, Anna Lou Fichtor of Sydney, H.L. (Rita) Greenwood of Ankeny, Kathy Culbertson of Riverton, and Gil (Chae) Greenwood of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law Karen McCubbin of Omaha, NE; and too many nephews and nieces to name, yet she remembered each for their graduations and weddings. She was preceded in death by her husband Denver; son Jerry; a grandson; brother Howard; and a sister Barbara.

Eldred E. "Sally" Greenwood McCubbin was born May 22, 1926 in Thurman, Iowa to Hugh and Elsie Greenwood. The daughter of a farmer and she was very grateful to have plenty of food to eat during the depression. On March 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Denver McCubbin. The couple made their home on a farm near Farnhamville for many years, and later moving to Somers and then Twin Lakes upon retirement. Sally attended Tarkio College for two years upon high school graduation, and then Drake University in 1967. She taught school in Lake City and Farnhamville, and then taught kindergarten in Lohrville for 30 years until her retirement. Following her teaching career, Sally opened a ceramic shop in her home and taught ceramics for a number of years. Denver passed away in 2000. Sally was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Study Club, Quilt Club, and a volunteer of CalPals, and the Twin Lakes Bible Camp.
