ROCKWELL CITY - Darrell F. Schoepke 79, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Rockwell City, with Pastor Chadric Dietrich officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Township Cemetery, Rinard. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Church until service time. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home is serving the family.
Darrell is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughters, Debra Baschke of West Des Moines, and Sandra Schoepke of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Kendal (Mollie) Baschke of Ruthven, and Taylor Widuch of Milledgeville, GA; sister Gladys Scott of Tucson, AZ; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick F. and Millie A. (Zoss) Schoepke; and sister LuellaSchoepke.
Darrell Fredrick Schoepke was born January 29, 1934 at Somers, Iowa and graduated from Somers High School, with the Class of 1951. On June 6, 1954 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Wooters. The couple farmed south of Somers from 1954 to 1959, when they moved to a farm near Rockwell City. In 1993, they moved into Rockwell City but continued farming. Darrell farmed for 47 years, retiring in 1998. He was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, and a Farm Bureau member. Darrellenjoyed family, going to fairs, traveling, and singing in the Church Choir.
