Glenn L. Johnson

June 21, 1915 - October 30, 1992


Glen L. Johnson, the son of Carl L. Johnson and Nellie Frotscher Johnson, was born on the family farm southwest of Rinard, Iowa, on June 21, 1915, and departed his life October 30, 1992, on the same family farm. He lived his life to the age of 77 years, 4 months, and 9 days.

Glen was raised on the family farm and attended and graduated from the Rinard High School in 1933. On June 21, 1943, Glen Johnson was united in marriage to Emma Ehspanner at Lohrville, Iowa. To this union were born five children; Jon of Clive, Duane of Lohrville, Joyce of Cedar Rapids, Carol of Davenport and Sharon of Cedar Rapids. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Rinard area and later took over the family farm where they made their home. Glen retired from farming in 1985 due to failing health.

Glen Johnson was a member of the Rinard United Methodist Church.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, five children, Jeffrey and Jennifer, one sister, Glapha Booton of Rock Island, Illinois, two nephews and two nieces. Those who preceded him in death were his parents and an infant brother.

A private family funeral service was held Saturday, October, 31, 1992 at 2:00 PM, from the Brown Funeral Home in Lohrville with Dr. Carl Klein officiating. Interment was made in the Cedar Township Cemetery near Rinard.

Serving as casket bearers were Jack Schoeberlein, Boyce Johnson, Harold Frotscher and Bud Remsberg.
